Susan’s career took off with her debut role 35 years ago, in the TV movie Lucky Day alongside Olympia Dukakis and Chloe Webb. Since then, she has portrayed a variety of captivating characters in numerous films and television shows. Most recently, she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in My 7 Grandmas, and Nominated as Best Actress in the Film Fixation, further highlighting her ability to deliver compelling and memorable performances.
To name a few, Susan has appeared in the popular TV series Chicago Fire, the Lifetime film The Christmas Listing, and the thriller Cover Me alongside Danny Trejo, Jesse Metcalfe, and TC Stallings and we can’t forget Modern Family where she played Rhoda Hodack the neighborhood Hotdog eating Champion. Ha.
With a deep appreciation for live performance as well, Susan has showcased her talent in stage productions including Grand Opening, Spirit Level, Oklahoma, Pygmalion, 50 Words, and Dearest Mother.
In addition to her work on screen, Susan has expanded her creative footprint as a producer. She recently produced a short film that garnered five festival nominations, and has also contributed as a producer in four feature films, demonstrating her versatility and leadership behind the camera.
In 2022, Marissa Coughlan’s production, the short film V.I.P., won the Bill Murray Short Comedy Award at the Twin Cities Film Fest, further underscoring her range as both a performer.
Looking ahead, Susan continues to take on dynamic roles in projects such as Shut Eye, Cruel Summer Weekend, and Santa’s List, Kitchen Fire and more, where she remains actively involved both in front of and behind the camera, including production, casting, and script supervision are her favorites but she’s also privileged to be AD, Fx Makeup and more.
